The WEILER 98473 is a stainless steel scratch brush built for surface preparation, light cleaning, and deburring tasks common in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general trade work. The brush features a 2-row, 9-column fill configuration using stainless steel bristles, which provide corrosion-resistant abrasion on metal surfaces without contaminating stainless steel base materials. The wood toothbrush-style handle gives tradespeople a familiar, controlled grip for close-quarters work on fittings, pipe ends, welds, and electrical contacts. At 0.09 pounds, it is light enough for all-day use in a tool pouch or service bag.
This scratch brush is suited for residential and commercial trade applications where a compact, hand-held cleaning tool is needed. Typical uses include cleaning pipe threads before fitting, removing oxidation from copper tubing, prepping weld joints, brushing flux residue, and cleaning terminal connections. The stainless steel fill makes it appropriate for use on stainless, aluminum, and other non-ferrous metals where cross-contamination from carbon steel bristles must be avoided.
Designed as a general-purpose hand scratch brush for trade use on metal surfaces including stainless steel, copper, aluminum, and similar materials requiring non-contaminating bristle contact.
This tool requires no installation. Licensed tradespeople should select the appropriate bristle material for the base metal being cleaned to avoid galvanic contamination. When used near energized electrical components, de-energize and lock out the circuit before brushing terminal areas per applicable NEC guidelines. Keep bristles clear of open flame or extreme heat sources that could damage the wood handle.
