The WEILER 97736 is a crimped nylon wheel brush designed for surface conditioning, deburring, and finishing applications across metal fabrication, maintenance, and industrial work. The brush features an 8-inch outside diameter with a 1-inch face width and a 2-inch arbor hole for secure mounting. Silicon carbide abrasive with an 80 grit rating is encapsulated in the nylon filaments, delivering consistent scratch patterns and controlled material removal. The filament wire diameter falls at 0.030 inches and above, and the trim length measures 2.25 inches. Rated at 3,600 RPM maximum, this brush is suited for use on bench grinders and pedestal grinders in shop environments.
This wheel brush is appropriate for light to medium surface preparation tasks including cleaning weld scale, removing rust, deburring edges, and blending on ferrous and non-ferrous metals. It is commonly used in fabrication shops, maintenance facilities, and industrial production lines where consistent surface finish is required. The nylon fill with silicon carbide abrasive makes it a practical choice when a softer cutting action is needed compared to wire-fill brushes, reducing the risk of gouging softer base materials.
Designed as an arbor-hole mounted wheel brush for use on bench grinders and pedestal grinders accepting an 8-inch wheel with a 2-inch arbor bore.
Installation should be performed by a qualified technician familiar with abrasive wheel mounting procedures. Always power down and lock out the grinder before mounting or removing the brush. Confirm the grinder spindle speed does not exceed the 3,600 RPM maximum rating of the brush before operation. Use appropriate flanges and fasteners per the tool manufacturer specifications and follow ANSI B11 or applicable abrasive wheel safety standards.
