The WEILER 97728 is a drive arbor designed to adapt small-diameter wheel brushes for use with rotary tools and die grinders. It converts a 1/2 inch arbor hole to a 1/4 inch shank, allowing wheel brushes rated up to 3 inches in diameter to mount securely on tools with a 1/4 inch collet. Rated to 25,000 RPM, this arbor is suitable for high-speed deburring, surface conditioning, and cleaning applications. The arbor does not include an attached or flow-through spindle. It is installed by metalworking technicians, maintenance professionals, and fabricators working with bench grinders or handheld rotary tools.
This drive arbor is intended for use with 3 inch small-diameter wheel brushes in light industrial and maintenance settings. Typical applications include weld spatter removal, rust and scale cleaning, and edge blending on metal workpieces. The 1/4 inch shank fits standard die grinder collets and many rotary tool chucks, making it a practical adapter for shop and field use where wheel brush work is required on smaller tooling platforms.
Designed for use with 3 inch small-diameter wheel brushes that have a 1/2 inch arbor hole, mounted on rotary tools or die grinders equipped with a 1/4 inch collet or chuck.
Installation is performed by machinists, fabricators, or maintenance technicians familiar with rotary abrasive tooling. Always power down and disconnect the tool from its power source before mounting or removing the arbor. Verify that the wheel brush RPM rating meets or exceeds the tool speed before operation, and confirm the collet is fully tightened before running the tool. Follow ANSI B7 safety standards for abrasive wheel and brush mounting.
