The WEILER 94651 is a knotted wheel brush designed for aggressive surface preparation, weld cleaning, and deburring on metal workpieces. Constructed with carbon steel stringer bead twist wire, it delivers the cutting action needed to remove mill scale, slag, rust, and heavy coatings from steel and other ferrous surfaces. The brush mounts via a 3/8-24 threaded arbor hole and spins at up to 20,000 RPM, making it compatible with angle grinders and die grinders used by welders, fabricators, and maintenance technicians. At 4 inches in outside diameter with a 3/16-inch face width, it fits into tight weld joints and narrow surface channels where flat discs cannot reach.
This wheel brush is suited for industrial maintenance, structural steel fabrication, pipe weld prep, and general metal finishing applications. The knotted wire configuration produces higher contact pressure than crimped wire, making it the preferred choice when working on heavy weld beads, thick rust scale, or stubborn surface contamination. It is used in both shop and field settings by welders, ironworkers, pipefitters, and maintenance mechanics who need consistent, repeatable surface preparation before coating or inspection.
Designed for use with angle grinders and die grinders equipped with a 3/8-24 threaded spindle. Verify that the tool's rated free speed does not exceed 20,000 RPM before mounting.
Installation should be performed by qualified personnel familiar with abrasive wheel safety per ANSI B11 and tool manufacturer guidelines. Always power down and disconnect the grinder before mounting or removing the brush. Thread the brush firmly onto the 3/8-24 spindle by hand and confirm it is fully seated before operating. Wear appropriate PPE including a face shield, safety glasses, and gloves during use, and never exceed the marked maximum RPM.
