The WEILER 94051 is a knotted wheel brush designed for aggressive surface preparation and weld cleaning on angle grinders and compatible power tools. The 4.5-inch diameter brush uses stringer bead twist knotted carbon steel wire, which concentrates wire tension at the tips for fast cutting action on heavy mill scale, rust, weld spatter, and coatings. Wire diameter falls in the 0.020 to 0.029-inch range, balancing durability with surface reach. Rated to 12,500 RPM, this brush is built for production-level use in fabrication shops, structural steel work, and field welding applications. Licensed tradespeople and experienced fabricators are the primary installers and users of this product.
This wheel brush fits angle grinders with a 5/8-11 threaded spindle, the standard arbor size on most 4.5-inch grinders. The 3/16-inch face width and 7/8-inch trim length make it well suited for weld bead cleaning, seam prep, and surface conditioning on flat or slightly contoured workpieces. It is used in residential and commercial fabrication, pipeline work, structural steel erection, and general metalworking where a wire wheel cup or flap disc would be too aggressive or too fine for the task at hand.
Designed for use with angle grinders equipped with a 5/8-11 threaded spindle arbor, which is the standard mount on most 4.5-inch class angle grinders. No shank adapter is included or required for direct-mount operation.
Installation and operation of knotted wire wheel brushes should be performed by qualified personnel familiar with angle grinder safety practices. Always power down and disconnect the grinder from its power source before mounting or removing the brush. Verify the tool's rated no-load RPM does not exceed the brush maximum of 12,500 RPM before use. Always inspect the brush for damaged or broken wires before each use, wear appropriate face and eye protection, and follow ANSI B11 and applicable OSHA standards for abrasive wheel tool operation.
