The WEILER 93653 is a crimped-wire cup brush designed for aggressive surface preparation on metal, weld joints, and fabricated assemblies. It features a 4-inch diameter with 0.02-inch steel wire fill in a crimped configuration, which delivers consistent scratch patterns and long service life under sustained load. The threaded 5/8-11 arbor hole mounts directly to standard angle grinders and die grinders. With a maximum operating speed of 10,200 RPM and a 1.375-inch trim length, this brush handles rust removal, scale, slag, and paint stripping on structural steel and pipe. Metal fabricators, pipefitters, welders, and millwrights are the primary users.
This cup brush is suited for heavy-duty surface conditioning in industrial fabrication shops, maintenance facilities, and field welding environments. It is used on carbon steel, cast iron, and other ferrous surfaces where stock removal and pre-weld or pre-coat surface prep is required. The crimped fill pattern is preferred when the work surface is irregular or contoured, since the wire tips conform and maintain contact more consistently than knotted configurations. It is sold individually and packaged as a single unit.
Designed to fit angle grinders and surface grinders with a standard 5/8-11 threaded spindle arbor, which is the common mounting thread for 4-inch class cup brushes used in metal fabrication and maintenance applications.
Installation and use should be performed by trained personnel familiar with abrasive wheel safety per ANSI B11 and OSHA 1910.215 guidelines. Always power down and disconnect the tool before mounting or removing the brush. Confirm the tool's rated no-load RPM does not exceed the brush maximum of 10,200 RPM before operation. Wear appropriate PPE including face shield, gloves, and hearing protection during use.
