The WEILER 93617 is an 8-inch diameter wheel brush designed for surface preparation, deburring, cleaning, and scale removal on metal workpieces. Mounted via an arbor hole, it accepts standard arbor setups and spins at a maximum of 6,000 RPM. The brush uses crimped carbon steel wire in the 0.010 to 0.019 inch diameter range, which provides flexible, consistent contact across irregular surfaces. With a 3/4-inch face width and a 2-1/16-inch trim length, this brush delivers controlled aggression without excessive material removal. It is a go-to tool for fabricators, pipefitters, welders, and maintenance technicians working on ferrous metal surfaces.
This wheel brush suits industrial and trade applications where surface conditioning is required before welding, coating, or inspection. Typical uses include weld prep, rust and mill scale removal, and post-weld cleanup on structural steel, pipe, and plate. The crimped wire construction makes it well suited for contoured or uneven surfaces where a stiff wire would skip or gouge. It is compatible with bench grinders, pedestal grinders, and arbor-drive setups that accept an arbor hole mount and operate within the 6,000 RPM maximum rating.
Designed for use with bench grinders and pedestal grinders equipped with a 5/8-inch arbor hole mount operating at or below 6,000 RPM. Suitable for ferrous metal surface preparation applications.
Installation is performed by qualified maintenance technicians or fabricators familiar with abrasive tool safety. Always power down and lock out the grinder before mounting or removing the brush. Verify that the machine spindle speed does not exceed the 6,000 RPM maximum rating marked on the brush before operation. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment including face shield, gloves, and hearing protection during use.
