The WEILER 90317 is a crimped-wire cup brush designed for surface preparation, weld cleaning, deburring, and rust or scale removal on metal workpieces. It measures 1-3/4 inches in diameter with a 3/4-inch trim length and mounts via a 1/4-inch shank arbor, making it compatible with standard die grinders and right-angle grinders equipped with a 1/4-inch collet. The fill material is stainless steel wire at 0.0118 inches in diameter, which resists contamination on stainless steel base materials and prevents carbon deposits. Rated to 13,000 RPM, this brush suits both light and moderate stock removal tasks in fabrication, maintenance, and HVAC or mechanical service environments.
This cup brush is used in metal fabrication shops, field service, and maintenance applications where surface prep is required before welding, inspection, or coating. The 1/4-inch shank fits directly into common die grinders used by HVAC technicians, pipefitters, and general maintenance mechanics. The crimped wire configuration provides consistent, even contact pressure across irregular surfaces and weld seams. Stainless steel fill is the appropriate choice when working on stainless base metals to avoid cross-contamination that could lead to corrosion.
Designed for use with die grinders and rotary tools equipped with a 1/4-inch collet. Suitable for stainless steel, carbon steel, and other metal surfaces requiring crimped-wire cup brush action.
Always verify the grinder or rotary tool RPM rating meets or exceeds the brush maximum RPM before mounting. Power down and disconnect the tool from its air supply or electrical source before installing or removing the brush. Wear appropriate PPE including eye protection and gloves when operating wire brushes. Inspect the brush for damaged or splayed wires before each use and replace if wire integrity is compromised.
