The WEILER 90289 is a steel crimped wire end brush designed for surface preparation, deburring, cleaning, and blending on metal workpieces. The brush features a 3/4 inch working diameter with crimped steel wire filaments ranging from 0.0101 to 0.0200 inches in diameter. A 6 mm steel shank allows direct mounting into rotary tools, die grinders, and drill presses. Rated to 22,000 RPM, it delivers consistent performance across a range of material removal and finishing tasks. Fabricators, machinists, pipefitters, and maintenance technicians are the primary users of this type of tooling in shop and field environments.
This end brush is suited for use on weld seams, pipe ends, casting flash, and machined surfaces where a powered rotary abrasive is needed in tight or confined areas. Its compact end-brush geometry allows access to bores, slots, and recessed features that larger cup or wheel brushes cannot reach. Common applications include pre-weld and post-weld cleaning, rust and scale removal, and surface conditioning on ferrous metals. The steel wire construction handles moderate to aggressive cleaning duty on hard surfaces.
Designed for use in rotary tools, die grinders, and drill presses accepting a 6 mm shank. Verify that the tool spindle speed does not exceed the 22,000 RPM maximum rating before use.
Installation is performed by machinists, fabricators, or maintenance technicians using standard rotary power tools. Confirm the tool chuck or collet is sized for a 6 mm shank and that the tool is fully powered down and unplugged before inserting or removing the brush. Always confirm tool RPM rating meets or is below the 22,000 RPM maximum before operation. Eye protection and appropriate PPE are required when operating wire brushes per standard shop safety practice.
