The WEILER 85981 is a 3-inch silicon carbide disc brush designed for surface preparation, blending, and finishing on metal, stone, and composite materials. With an 80-grit medium-grade abrasive and a maximum operating speed of 4500 RPM, it delivers consistent material removal and surface conditioning. The rectangular filament shape promotes uniform contact across the work surface. Arbor connector mounting makes it compatible with standard angle grinders and bench-mounted rotary tools. At 0.05 pounds, it is a lightweight consumable suited for repetitive production work or field service tasks.
This disc brush is used in metal fabrication shops, maintenance facilities, and field service environments where controlled surface finishing is required. It is appropriate for deburring, light rust removal, weld blending, and pre-treatment surface prep on ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The gray silicon carbide filament construction handles harder substrates that would wear down aluminum oxide media faster. A 1.25-inch trim length provides sufficient filament flex for contour work while maintaining abrasive control on flat stock.
Designed for use with rotary tools and angle grinders equipped with a standard arbor connector accepting a 3-inch disc brush.
Installation and replacement should be performed by a qualified operator following the tool manufacturer's instructions. Always power down and disconnect the rotary tool before mounting or removing the disc brush. Confirm the tool's rated RPM meets or exceeds the brush's 4500 RPM maximum before operation. Inspect the filaments for wear or damage before each use and replace the brush when abrasive effectiveness is reduced.
