The WEILER 85850 is a 6-inch silicon carbide crimped disc brush rated at 180 grit, Very Fine grade. It is designed for surface finishing, deburring, and cleaning operations on metal, stone, or composite surfaces. The crimped filament construction provides consistent abrasive contact across the work surface. Filament diameter measures 0.0350 inches, and the brush runs at a maximum of 2000 RPM. The plain hole connector mounts directly to compatible arbors or bench grinders with a 7/8-inch arbor hole. Trim length is 1.5 inches. This brush is installed and used by machinists, fabricators, and maintenance technicians working on surface prep applications.
The WEILER 85850 is suited for light to medium surface conditioning tasks where a fine finish is required. Typical applications include removing light oxidation, blending weld seams, cleaning casting flash, and preparing surfaces prior to coating or inspection. The Very Fine 180-grit silicon carbide abrasive is appropriate for ferrous and non-ferrous metals as well as harder non-metallic materials. It fits standard bench grinders and angle grinder arbor configurations that accept a 7/8-inch plain hole mount.
Designed as an OEM-style disc brush replacement for bench grinders and rotary finishing tools that accept a 6-inch disc brush with a 7/8-inch plain hole arbor mount.
Installation is performed by machinists or maintenance technicians. Power down and lockout the grinder or rotary tool before mounting or removing the brush. Confirm the tool spindle speed does not exceed 2000 RPM before operating. Wear appropriate eye and face protection when using abrasive disc brushes, as filament and abrasive particles can be ejected during use.
