The WEILER 85816 is a 4-inch silicon carbide crimped disc brush designed for surface preparation, deburring, and finishing work on metal, stone, and composite materials. It features a fine grade, 120-grit silicon carbide abrasive with round crimped filaments 0.040 inches in diameter, delivering consistent, controlled material removal. The plain hole connector mounts directly to standard bench grinders, angle grinders, and die grinders. With a maximum operating speed of 2,500 RPM and a 7/8-inch arbor hole, this disc brush suits light to medium surface conditioning tasks. Machinists, fabricators, and maintenance technicians are the typical end users.
This disc brush is suited for bench or portable grinder use in light industrial, maintenance, and fabrication environments. The 4-inch outside diameter and 1-1/2-inch trim length make it appropriate for finishing welds, cleaning corroded surfaces, and blending on flat or slightly contoured workpieces. Its fine grade abrasive rating targets final-pass surface prep rather than aggressive stock removal. The gray silicon carbide fill is well suited for harder, non-ferrous, and ceramic-type materials where aluminum oxide would be too aggressive.
Designed as a replacement-style disc brush for use with bench grinders, angle grinders, and die grinders accepting a 7/8-inch arbor plain hole connector.
Installation should be performed by a qualified technician or machinist. Disconnect and de-energize the grinder before mounting or removing any abrasive accessory. Verify the grinder spindle speed does not exceed the 2,500 RPM maximum rating marked on the brush before operation. Confirm the arbor hole fits flush against the backing flange with no wobble before running the tool at speed.
