The WEILER 58216 is a Type 27 depressed-center cutoff wheel designed for aggressive material removal on metal and aluminum. It measures 4-1/2 inches in diameter and 1/8 inches thick, with a 5/8-11 arbor hole for secure mounting. The abrasive grain is 30-grit aluminum oxide bonded with a resinoid bond, producing a hardness grade of T. This wheel is rated to a maximum of 13,300 RPM and is reinforced for use under the demanding load conditions common to angle grinder applications. Licensed trades and fabrication professionals use this wheel for cutting and light grinding tasks where a depressed-center profile provides clearance from the workpiece surface.
The WEILER 58216 is suited for use on angle grinders in metal fabrication, welding prep, and general trade cutting applications. The Type 27 profile allows flush and near-flush cutting angles that a flat Type 1 wheel cannot achieve. Its aluminum oxide grain and resinoid bond make it appropriate for ferrous metals and aluminum stock. The black wheel color and ALU30T specification code identify this as part of a performance-grade aluminum cutting series.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement cutoff wheel for angle grinders accepting 4-1/2 inch diameter wheels with a 5/8-11 spindle thread.
Installation and operation of abrasive cutoff wheels must be performed by qualified personnel following ANSI B7.1 safety standards. Always power down and disconnect the angle grinder before mounting or removing the wheel. Inspect the wheel for cracks or chips before each use and confirm the tool RPM rating meets or does not exceed the 13,300 RPM maximum marked on the wheel. Do not use this wheel for applications beyond its rated capacity or on materials not appropriate for aluminum oxide abrasives.
