The WEILER 56108 is a Type 1 (flat) abrasive cutoff wheel designed for use with angle grinders on steel applications. It measures 5 inches in diameter and 0.035 inches thick, with a 5/8-inch arbor hole. The wheel is constructed from aluminum oxide abrasive bonded with a resinoid bond and reinforced for added structural integrity during cutting operations. Rated at a maximum of 12,200 RPM, it carries a hardness code of T and meets the A60T specification. At 60 grit, it delivers fast, aggressive cuts through mild steel, structural steel, and similar ferrous materials. Licensed metal fabricators, maintenance technicians, and welders are the primary users.
This cutoff wheel is suited for light to medium steel cutting tasks in both shop and field environments. Typical applications include cutting rebar, angle iron, pipe, and sheet metal during fabrication, construction, and maintenance work. The thin 0.035-inch profile minimizes material loss and reduces heat buildup at the cut zone. It is intended for use on angle grinders and die grinders equipped with a 5/8-inch arbor. The wheel is sold individually, with a minimum order quantity of 100 units, making it well suited for contractors and supply houses stocking consumables in bulk.
Designed for use with angle grinders and compatible die grinders fitted with a 5/8-inch arbor. Rated application material is steel per manufacturer specification.
Cutoff wheels must be installed and operated by personnel familiar with abrasive wheel safety per ANSI B7.1 guidelines. Always inspect the wheel for cracks or chips before mounting and confirm the tool spindle speed does not exceed the 12,200 RPM maximum rating stamped on the wheel. Power down and disconnect the grinder from its power source before mounting or removing the wheel. Never use a cutoff wheel for grinding on its face or side surface.
