The WEILER 50163 is a Tiger 3D MAX ceramic abrasive flap disc engineered for high-rate metal removal on demanding applications. Built with 3D precision-shaped ceramic grain and a Type 29 conical profile, it delivers aggressive cutting action and extended disc life compared to conventional abrasive flaps. The phenolic backing plate provides rigid support through heavy grinding passes. At 4.5 inches in diameter with a 7/8-inch arbor hole, it mounts directly to standard right-angle grinders. Rated to 13,000 RPM, this disc is suited for sustained production grinding and finishing across a wide range of ferrous metals and hard alloys. Grit designation is 80+C, indicating a coarse-to-medium ceramic grain optimized for rapid stock removal.
The 50163 is used in metal fabrication, shipbuilding, pressure vessel fabrication, and multi-pass weld blending operations where throughput and operator endurance both matter. It performs in grinding and finishing modes, making it a practical choice when a single disc needs to move between removing weld crowns and blending surfaces. Compatible with spanner nut mounting systems on right-angle grinders, it fits the standard 7/8-inch arbor found on most 4.5-inch angle grinder platforms used in industrial and field fabrication environments.
Designed for use with right-angle grinders fitted with a 7/8-inch arbor and spanner nut mounting. Suitable for metal fabrication, shipbuilding, pressure vessel, and multi-pass grinding and finishing applications.
Installation is performed by qualified grinding operators or metalworkers following ANSI B7.1 safety standards. Power down and disconnect the grinder before mounting or removing the disc. Confirm the grinder free-speed RPM does not exceed the 13,000 RPM maximum rating marked on the disc before operation. Use the appropriate spanner wrench and spanner nut to seat the disc securely on the arbor — never use an impact wrench or oversized nut to force the flap disc into position.
