The WEILER 17612 is a shank-mount wheel brush designed for use with die grinders in metal fabrication, surface preparation, and weld cleaning applications. The brush features a 2-1/2 inch outside diameter with crimped carbon steel fill wire and a 1/4 inch shank for direct chuck mounting. It is rated to 20,000 RPM, making it suitable for high-speed power tool use. The 3/8 inch face width and 3/4 inch trim length deliver consistent contact on curved and flat surfaces. Installed by fabricators, maintenance technicians, and pipefitters, this brush handles deburring, rust removal, and light surface blending in tight workspaces.
The WEILER 17612 is used in industrial maintenance, mechanical fabrication, and general metalworking where a compact, high-speed wire brush is needed. Its 1/4 inch shank mounts directly into standard die grinder collets without adapters. The crimped wire construction provides a flexible, moderate-aggressiveness action suited to cleaning welds, removing scale, and prepping surfaces on pipe, structural steel, and machined components. It is well-suited to confined areas where larger cup or disc brushes cannot reach.
Designed for use with die grinders accepting a 1/4 inch shank. Suitable for standard high-speed rotary tool applications in metalworking and fabrication environments.
Installation is performed by the equipment operator or maintenance technician. Before mounting, confirm the die grinder is powered off and disconnected from its air or electrical supply. Verify the tool spindle speed does not exceed the 20,000 RPM rating of this brush. Tighten the collet securely around the 1/4 inch shank before operating, and always use appropriate eye protection and guarding per ANSI B11 and tool manufacturer requirements.
