The WEILER 13416 is a knotted wheel brush designed for aggressive surface preparation and weld cleaning on metal workpieces. Built with stainless steel fill wire in the 0.010 to 0.019 inch diameter range, it delivers the cutting action needed to remove rust, scale, weld spatter, and oxidation without contaminating carbon steel or stainless steel base materials. The 4-inch outside diameter and 3/8-inch face width keep the working area focused. Rated to 12,500 RPM, it is sized and balanced for use on right angle grinders. The threaded 5/8-11 arbor hole mounts directly to standard right angle grinder spindles without an adapter shank.
This brush is used in fabrication shops, pipe yards, structural steel work, and maintenance environments where surface prep must meet weld inspection or coating standards. It suits both light industrial and heavy-duty field applications. The stainless steel wire construction makes it the correct choice when cross-contamination from carbon steel wire must be avoided, such as on stainless steel pipe welds, food-grade equipment repairs, or marine structural work. Licensed fabricators and ironworkers are the primary installers.
Designed for use on right angle grinders with a 5/8-11 threaded spindle. No shank adapter is included or required.
Installation and operation of wheel brushes on right angle grinders should be performed by qualified personnel familiar with ANSI B11 and OSHA 29 CFR 1910.215 abrasive wheel standards. Verify the grinder's rated RPM meets or does not exceed the 12,500 RPM maximum before mounting. Power down and disconnect the grinder from its power source before threading on or removing the brush. Always install the proper guard for the grinder and confirm the brush spins freely before resuming work. Wear appropriate eye and face protection during operation.
