The WEILER 06490 is a crimped wire wheel brush designed for aggressive surface conditioning, deburring, and cleaning on ferrous and non-ferrous metals. It mounts via a standard arbor hole and is driven by bench grinders, pedestal grinders, automatic machines, and CNC milling equipment. The brush features stainless steel fill wire in the 0.010 to 0.019 inch diameter range, an 8 inch outside diameter, and a 1-3/8 inch trim length. It is rated to a maximum of 4,500 RPM. Metalworking shops, fabricators, and maintenance technicians typically specify this brush where corrosion-resistant wire is required to avoid cross-contamination on stainless or aluminum workpieces.
The WEILER 06490 suits bench and pedestal grinder setups as well as automated machining environments including CNC milling and automatic finishing machines. The arbor-hole mount fits standard grinder spindles without a shank adapter. Typical applications include weld spatter removal, scale removal, edge blending, and surface prep prior to coating or inspection. The 1 inch face width concentrates wire contact for controlled, consistent material removal across a workpiece edge or surface.
Designed for use on bench or pedestal grinders, automatic machines, and CNC milling equipment with a standard arbor-hole spindle mount. No shank is included.
Installation should be performed by a qualified metalworking technician or maintenance professional. Always power down and lock out the grinder or machine before mounting or removing the brush. Confirm the machine spindle speed does not exceed the 4,500 RPM maximum rating of this brush before operation. Wear appropriate face and eye protection, and verify the arbor hardware is properly torqued per the grinder manufacturer guidelines before running the wheel.
