The WEILER 01178 is a crimped-wire wheel brush designed for aggressive surface conditioning, deburring, and cleaning on ferrous and non-ferrous workpieces. Constructed with carbon steel fill material, the brush mounts via a standard arbor hole for use on bench grinders, pedestal grinders, and automated machining equipment. The 8-inch outside diameter and 6,000 RPM maximum speed rating make it suited for high-throughput material removal in industrial shop environments. The crimped wire configuration provides consistent, moderate-to-aggressive cut action while allowing the filaments to flex over irregular surfaces. Licensed tradespeople and machine operators in fabrication, welding, and metalworking shops are the primary users of this brush.
This wheel brush is rated for use on automatic machines, bench or pedestal grinders, CNC machines, and milling equipment. The arbor-hole mount accepts standard spindle arbors without a shank. With a 2-1/16-inch trim length and a 1/2-inch face width, the brush delivers a focused cleaning or finishing pass across a defined contact area. It is well-suited for weld spatter removal, rust and scale removal, and general surface preparation in production or job-shop settings.
Designed for use on bench grinders, pedestal grinders, automatic machines, and CNC milling equipment that accept a standard arbor-hole wheel brush mount.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machine operator or maintenance technician following the equipment manufacturer's guarding and arbor-mounting procedures. Always power down and lock out the machine before mounting or removing the brush. Confirm the machine spindle speed does not exceed the 6,000 RPM rating marked on the brush before operating. Eye protection and appropriate PPE are required during operation per ANSI B11 and OSHA general industry standards.
