The WEILER 01168 is a crimped wire wheel brush designed for aggressive surface finishing, deburring, and cleaning applications on ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Built with a carbon steel fill material and mounted via an arbor hole, this wheel brush installs on bench grinders, pedestal grinders, and automated machining equipment. The 8-inch outside diameter and 0.5-inch face width make it well suited for moderate-coverage passes on flat or contoured workpieces. It is rated to 6,000 RPM and accepts a 0.75-inch arbor hole. Machinists, fabricators, and industrial maintenance technicians are the primary installers of this tool.
This wheel brush is used in both manual and automated settings. Typical applications include bench or pedestal grinding stations, CNC machining centers, milling operations, and automatic deburring machines. The crimped wire configuration provides a more flexible, controlled cut compared to knotted wire, making it appropriate for light-to-medium material removal and surface conditioning. The 2-1/16-inch trim length contributes to that flexibility across varying workpiece geometries.
Designed for use on bench grinders, pedestal grinders, automatic machines, CNC machines, and milling equipment that accept an 8-inch wheel brush with a 0.75-inch arbor hole mount.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or maintenance technician familiar with abrasive wheel mounting procedures. Always power down and de-energize the machine before mounting or removing the wheel brush. Verify that the machine spindle speed does not exceed the 6,000 RPM rating of this brush before operation. Follow applicable ANSI B11 or OSHA 1910.215 guidelines for abrasive wheel guarding and mounting when installing on bench or pedestal grinders.
