The WEBSTONE H-HCE4-74 is a 1-inch sweat (SWT) boiler union with a 1/4-inch NPT plugged port, designed for use in hydronic heating system piping. Boiler unions allow technicians to disconnect and reconnect boiler piping connections without cutting pipe, making serviceability a core function of this fitting. The integrated 1/4-inch NPT plugged port provides a ready access point for gauges, sensors, or drain connections. This fitting is installed by licensed plumbers and HVAC hydronic technicians working on residential and light commercial hot water heating systems.
The H-HCE4-74 is suited for hydronic heating applications where a sweat-connected union is required at the boiler supply or return piping. The 1-inch sweat end connections are compatible with standard copper tubing used in forced hot water systems. The plugged 1/4-inch NPT port can be left capped or used to tap in a pressure gauge, thermometer, or drain valve as the installation requires. This fitting is a common component in boiler room rough-in work and boiler replacement projects.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and new-installation fitting for residential and light commercial hydronic heating systems using 1-inch copper sweat connections at the boiler supply or return piping.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified HVAC hydronic technician. Shut down the boiler and allow the system to cool and depressurize before disconnecting any piping. Sweat connections require proper flux, solder, and torch technique in accordance with applicable plumbing codes such as the IPC. Ensure the NPT plugged port is either securely capped or fitted with an appropriate rated gauge or valve before returning the system to service.
