The WD-40 49002 is a mineral oil-based aerosol lubricant supplied in an 8 oz pressurized can. It delivers corrosion protection, rust inhibition, and adhesive removal in a light amber, fast-penetrating formula. The propellant is carbon dioxide, and the base composition includes aliphatic hydrocarbon and petroleum base oil. Operating range spans -60 degrees F to 300 degrees F, making it suitable for a wide range of service environments. The flash point is 138 degrees F, so proper handling and storage away from ignition sources is required. HVAC technicians, plumbers, electricians, and general maintenance professionals keep this product on hand for routine mechanical service tasks.
This lubricant is well suited for light-duty maintenance across residential and commercial trade applications. Common uses include freeing seized fasteners, lubricating hinges and linkages, protecting exposed metal surfaces from moisture and oxidation, and quickly breaking down adhesive residue. It is not rated for extreme pressure or high-temperature bearing applications, so it is best applied where a general-purpose penetrating lubricant is called for rather than a specialized grease or EP compound.
Designed as a general-purpose aerosol lubricant for use on metal fasteners, hinges, linkages, and exposed components across HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general mechanical maintenance applications.
Apply only in well-ventilated areas; the formula is flammable with a flash point of 138 degrees F and must be kept away from open flames, sparks, and high-heat surfaces during and after application. Shake the can before use and hold it upright during spray. This product is not food-grade and should not be used on surfaces that contact food or potable water. Store the aerosol can away from heat sources and direct sunlight per standard aerosol handling guidelines.
