The WAYNE WATER SYSTEMS WCS50T is a cast iron sewage ejector pump built for residential and light commercial wastewater handling. Rated at 0.5 HP, it moves sewage and effluent from below-grade fixtures up to the main sewer line or septic system. The pump ships with a piggyback tether float switch that enables fully automatic operation without a separate switching device. A vortex impeller design keeps solids moving through the volute and reduces the likelihood of clogging during normal sewage service. The rugged cast iron housing resists wear and corrosion in wet-pit environments, making it a reliable choice for long-term sump or ejector basin installations.
The WCS50T is suited for sewage basins, septic tank inlet stations, and lift station applications where below-grade wastewater must be pumped to a higher elevation. It is a common installation in basement bathrooms, laundry rooms, and utility areas where gravity drainage to the building drain is not available. The included tether float switch simplifies wiring by plugging directly into an existing outlet, with the pump cord plugging into the switch body. Licensed plumbers typically handle the wet-side connections and basin cover sealing on these installations.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation sewage ejector pump for residential and light commercial sewage basin applications requiring a 0.5 HP tether-switch pump.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and the IPC. Always disconnect power at the circuit breaker before servicing the pump or float switch. The basin cover must be sealed airtight per code to contain sewer gases. Do not run the pump dry, and verify the discharge check valve is installed to prevent backflow into the basin.
