The WAYNE WATER SYSTEMS SWS50 is a 1/2 HP shallow well jet pump built for residential water supply systems drawing from wells up to 25 feet deep. The pump delivers a maximum flow rate of 420 GPH and operates at a working pressure range of 30 psi on and 50 psi off, controlled by a factory-preset pressure switch for automatic operation. The cast iron volute provides long-term durability and includes a dedicated priming port for easy volute filling. A quick-change voltage selection switch allows the unit to run at either 115 volts or 230 volts, and the square flange motor ships factory-set for 240 volts. Licensed plumbers and pump installers handle this type of installation.
The SWS50 is suited for residential shallow well applications where the static water level sits between 0 and 25 feet below grade. It is commonly installed in homes, cabins, and light agricultural settings that rely on a jet pump for pressure tank systems. The 3/4-inch NPT discharge and 1-1/4-inch NPT suction connections are standard sizing for typical residential pressure system piping. The dual-voltage motor provides flexibility when matching the pump to the available electrical service at the installation site.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation shallow well jet pump for residential pressure tank systems with static well depths not exceeding 25 feet.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pump technician in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and the IPC. Shut off all electrical power to the circuit before making wiring connections, and verify the voltage selection switch position matches the supply voltage before energizing the unit. The pump must be fully primed through the dedicated priming port before initial startup to prevent dry-run damage. Always connect the pump to a properly sized pressure tank and verify the tank pre-charge pressure matches the cut-in setting of the pressure switch.
