The WAYNE WATER SYSTEMS RUP160 is a 1/6 HP submersible utility pump built for continuous-duty water removal in portable, fully submerged applications. The oil-free motor and sealed thermoplastic housing resist corrosion and eliminate the need for lubrication maintenance. At peak flow, the RUP160 moves up to 3000 GPH, and delivers 1850 GPH against 10 feet of discharge head. The pump draws water down to within 3/8 inches of the surface, making it effective for near-complete water evacuation. Discharge is 1-1/4 inches, and a 3/4-inch garden hose adapter is included for flexible hose connections. This pump is designed for plumbers, HVAC technicians, and general contractors who need a dependable portable dewatering solution.
The RUP160 is suited for residential and light commercial water removal tasks. Common applications include flooded basements, bilge dewatering on boats, drainage from low-lying outdoor areas, and temporary water management during construction or service calls. The compact, portable form factor allows quick repositioning between jobsite locations. Because it operates without oil, it is appropriate for applications where contamination from lubricants is a concern. Plumbing and general trades are the primary installers, though no special licensing is required for standard utility pump deployment.
Designed as a portable, general-purpose submersible utility pump for residential and light commercial dewatering applications where a 1-1/4-inch or 3/4-inch garden hose discharge connection is required.
Installation is typically performed by plumbers or general trade contractors. Disconnect all electrical power to the affected area before placing or removing the pump from standing water to reduce shock hazard. Ensure the discharge hose is routed to a location that will not allow water to return to the pumped area. Follow all applicable local electrical and plumbing codes when connecting power and routing discharge lines.
