The WATTSTOPPER 98268653427 is a lead-free wye strainer designed to remove debris and particulate from liquid piping systems before that material can reach downstream valves, meters, and equipment. The body is constructed from cast copper silicon alloy and connects via female NPT (FNPT) threads at the 1/2 inch nominal inlet. A 3/8 inch NPT blow-off port on the retainer cap allows accumulated debris to be flushed without removing the strainer from the line. Internal softgoods are EPDM, suited for compatibility with water service. The unit is rated 400 WOG and 125 WSP. Plumbers and pipefitters install this strainer in residential and light commercial water distribution systems to protect downstream components.
This strainer is applied in 1/2 inch threaded water lines where debris exclusion is required upstream of pressure regulators, backflow preventers, zone valves, or flow meters. The FNPT connection suits standard iron pipe thread installations. The tapped retainer cap with closure plug allows periodic blowdown or screen cleaning in the field without full disassembly. Import construction. It falls within the Watts Water Technologies LF777S series, part number 0123081, and is categorized as a Y-type pipe strainer.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation wye strainer for 1/2 inch FNPT threaded water piping systems. This unit corresponds to Watts Water Technologies series LF777S, manufacturer part number 0123081.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and the International Plumbing Code (IPC). Shut off the water supply and depressurize the line before installation or service. Install with the screen leg pointing downward or horizontally per the manufacturer orientation guidance to ensure debris collects in the blow-off chamber. Use appropriate thread sealant on all NPT connections and verify no leaks under system pressure before returning the line to service.
