The WATTS t765dbv is a 3/4-inch pressure vacuum breaker (PVB) designed to prevent backsiphonage of toxic and non-toxic liquids in commercial and industrial water systems. The fully bronze body houses a spring-loaded check valve, an air relief valve with opening port, and two resilient-seated shutoffs with tee handles and test cocks. It operates across a temperature range of 32 to 140 degrees F and holds a maximum working pressure of 150 psi. A lightweight poppet seals the air opening under minimum flow conditions to reduce head loss. All internal components are serviceable in-line from the top of the unit, minimizing downtime during maintenance.
This vacuum breaker is suited for installation in industrial plants, cooling towers, laboratories, laundries, swimming pools, and lawn sprinkler systems where backflow prevention is required by code. It can be used with the SentryPlus Alert freeze sensor accessory (sold separately) to provide warning when ambient temperatures approach the freezing point. Optional union end ball valves and a plastic bonnet are available for additional freeze protection in cold-climate installations.
Designed for use in industrial plants, cooling towers, laboratories, laundries, swimming pools, and lawn sprinkler systems requiring backsiphonage protection. Compatible with SentryPlus Alert freeze sensor (sold separately). Optional union end ball valves and plastic bonnet available for freeze protection configurations.
Installation of a pressure vacuum breaker typically falls under the scope of a licensed plumber and must comply with local plumbing codes, the International Plumbing Code (IPC), and applicable backflow prevention regulations. Shut off the water supply and depressurize the line before installing or servicing the unit. The PVB must be installed a minimum height above all downstream outlets as required by code — consult local authority having jurisdiction for specific elevation requirements. Do not install in a location subject to continuous submersion or back-pressure conditions, as this device is rated for backsiphonage prevention only.
