The WATTS lfn55bm1-du-s 1" is a 1-inch water pressure reducing valve (PRV) designed to lower incoming supply pressure to a safe, controllable range for both residential and commercial plumbing systems. Built with a lead free copper silicon alloy body and a bronze sealed spring cage, it is suited for accessible outdoor waterworks or pit installations where corrosion resistance and durability are required. The valve adjusts outlet pressure from 25 to 75 psi, with a factory standard setting of 50 psi, and can handle incoming supply pressure up to 400 psi. An integral stainless steel strainer and thermal expansion bypass are built in, reducing the need for additional inline components.
This PRV fits into commercial and residential cold and hot water supply lines where incoming municipal or well pressure exceeds safe operating limits for downstream fixtures, appliances, and plumbing components. The solder union inlet and outlet connections make it appropriate for copper pipe systems. Its operating temperature range of 33 to 180 degrees F makes it suitable for both cold water service and domestic hot water applications. Licensed plumbers install this valve as part of new construction, remodel, or system upgrade projects requiring pressure management and water conservation compliance.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation PRV for 1-inch copper pipe residential and commercial plumbing systems requiring pressure reduction on potable water supply lines.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with local plumbing codes and the International Plumbing Code (IPC). Shut off the main water supply and relieve system pressure completely before removing any existing valve or making new connections. The solder union connections require standard copper soldering tools and flux rated for potable water service. After installation, adjust outlet pressure with the system charged and verify the setting with a calibrated pressure gauge downstream of the valve.
