The WATTS LF919QT-FS-100 is a 1-inch lead free reduced pressure zone (RPZ) backflow preventer assembly designed to protect potable water supplies from contamination caused by backsiphonage or backpressure. The assembly features quarter turn ball valves for fast shutoff and includes an integrated flood sensor with SentryPlus Alert technology. The sensor monitors the relief valve outlet and activates alerts when water discharge is detected, giving service technicians early warning of potential flooding events. This assembly is installed by licensed plumbers on continuous pressure piping systems where cross-connections pose a health hazard.
The LF919QT-FS-100 is suited for commercial and residential applications at the service line entrance and at cross-connections classified as health hazards under local plumbing codes. When paired with an optional add-on connection kit, the flood sensor can relay alerts through multiple communication pathways. Connection kit options include BMS integration, cellular communication, and the Sensor Control Monitor, which supports RS-485 Modbus communication with building automation systems (BAS) or Wi-Fi connectivity through the Nexa platform. This range of alert options makes the assembly a practical fit for facilities that require remote monitoring of backflow preventer status.
Designed for use in continuous pressure potable water piping systems where cross-connections are identified as health hazards. The flood sensor is activated via an optional add-on connection kit; compatible kit options include BMS, cellular communication, and the Sensor Control Monitor with RS-485 Modbus or Wi-Fi Nexa platform support.
Installation must be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with local plumbing codes and applicable backflow preventer assembly standards. Shut off the water supply and depressurize the line before servicing or installing the assembly. The assembly must be installed in the orientation specified by the manufacturer and requires annual testing by a certified backflow preventer tester in most jurisdictions. Do not install in a location subject to submersion unless the assembly is rated for that condition.
