The WATTS BRASS TUBULAR 3557-1408 is a push-connect angle valve quick connector designed for plumbing supply lines where a fast, tool-free connection is required. It transitions from a 1/2 inch Male Iron Pipe (MIP) thread on one end to a 3/4 inch Male Garden Hose (MGH) thread on the other, with a push-connect inlet rated to hold up to 250 psi. The fitting ships as a single pre-assembled piece with no loose parts to manage on the job. It suits licensed plumbers and experienced tradespeople working on new construction or repair projects involving PEX, copper, or CPVC pipe. NSF-14 and NSF-61 certifications confirm it meets potable water contact standards.
This connector is well-suited for residential and light commercial plumbing installations where a hose bib, washing machine, or outdoor water connection is being tied into an existing supply line. The push-connect end accepts PEX, copper, or CPVC tubing — simply cut the pipe clean, push it into the fitting until the tubing seats at the internal stop, and the connection is made. The valve is code approved for behind-wall installations without access panels and for direct in-ground burial. It serves as a direct replacement for Qest and Flare-It type fittings in retrofit and repair scenarios.
Designed for use with PEX, copper, and CPVC tubing on the push-connect inlet end. Replaces Qest and Flare-It type fittings in both new installation and plumbing repair applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with local plumbing codes and the IPC or applicable regional equivalent. Shut off the water supply and relieve line pressure before cutting into any existing supply pipe. Ensure the pipe end is cut square and deburred before inserting into the push-connect end to guarantee a proper seat and leak-free connection. Do not exceed the rated working pressure of 250 psi.
