The WATTS BRASS TUBULAR 3/4 LFN45BM1-U is a lead-free water pressure reducing valve designed for potable water systems in residential, commercial, and industrial plumbing applications. It accepts an inlet pressure and reduces it to a stable, adjustable downstream pressure between 25 psi and 75 psi, with a factory-set default of 50 psi. The valve features a sealed spring cage that suits outdoor or below-grade pit installations, an integral stainless steel strainer to protect internal components, and a thermoplastic seat for reliable shutoff. The 0.75-inch union inlet and outlet connections allow in-line serviceability without removing the valve body from the line. Licensed plumbers install this valve as part of a complete water service assembly.
This valve is rated for water temperatures from 33 degrees F to 160 degrees F, making it suitable for both cold and hot water supply lines. The bypass feature is engineered to manage thermal expansion pressure, which is critical in closed plumbing systems where a backflow preventer or check valve is present. Its standard capacity rating and lead-free construction meet the requirements for potable water contact in residential service entries, commercial building supply lines, and light industrial process water systems.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation pressure reducing valve for 0.75-inch potable water supply lines in residential, commercial, and industrial plumbing systems.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with local plumbing codes and the International Plumbing Code (IPC). Shut off the main water supply and relieve system pressure before beginning work. The union connections allow the valve to be removed for service without cutting into the pipe. Verify downstream pressure with a gauge after startup and adjust the set screw to the desired pressure within the 25 psi to 75 psi range.
