The WATTS 386421 is a high capacity feed water pressure regulator designed for commercial and residential hydronic heating systems. It fills the boiler and piping system with water, maintains system pressure at all times, and supplies make-up water in the event of system leaks. The body is constructed of bronze with a union threaded inlet and NPT threaded outlet. Internal components include a tight seating check valve and a stainless steel strainer. A purge lever allows for manual system purging without additional tools. Maximum working pressure is 100 psi. The simplified servicing design reduces downtime during maintenance calls.
This regulator is suited for installation on boiler feed lines in both residential and light commercial hydronic heating systems. The 1/2 inch IPS union inlet connection allows for straightforward inline installation and removal without disturbing adjacent piping. The high capacity flow design makes it appropriate for systems with greater water volume demands. Licensed plumbers and HVAC technicians are the typical installers in new construction and retrofit applications alike.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation feed water pressure regulator for residential and commercial hydronic heating and boiler systems with 1/2 inch IPS inlet connections and NPT outlet connections.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified HVAC technician in accordance with local plumbing codes and the IFGC where applicable. Shut off the water supply and depressurize the system completely before removing or installing this regulator. Use appropriate pipe thread sealant on NPT connections and verify all union fittings are hand-tight before final torque with a wrench. After installation, cycle the system and check all connections for leaks before returning the boiler to service.
