The WATTS 336416 is a Series 288A anti-siphon vacuum breaker engineered to prevent backsiphonage of contaminated water into a potable water supply line. Rated to a maximum pressure of 125 psi and a maximum temperature of 180 degrees F, this unit suits demanding hot-water applications. It features a lightweight disc float that closes the atmospheric vent under all flow rates, making it well suited for low-flow installations such as laboratory equipment. A durable silicone disc provides high resistance to heat and water hammer shock while ensuring a tight seat with minimal contact force. The body is brass construction with female threaded connections and stands 3.625 inches tall. Licensed plumbers install this device on potable water systems where backflow prevention is required by code.
The WATTS 336416 is appropriate for residential and commercial plumbing systems requiring atmospheric vacuum breaker protection. Its full-size orifice delivers pipe-capacity flow with minimal pressure drop, making it a practical choice for supply lines serving laboratory equipment, utility fixtures, and other low-flow applications. The streamlined internal water passages reduce turbulence and pressure loss across a range of flow conditions. This vacuum breaker is designed for installation on the supply side of fixtures that may be subject to backsiphonage risk.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation vacuum breaker for potable water plumbing systems requiring atmospheric backsiphonage protection at 1-inch pipe size.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and the International Plumbing Code (IPC). Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure before removing any existing fitting or installing this vacuum breaker. The unit must be installed in the correct flow orientation as indicated on the body to function properly. Do not install downstream of any valve or in a location where the atmospheric vent port may be submerged.
