The WATTS 0531208 is the BRVS-125 combination ball valve and relief valve designed for hydronic and non-potable water systems. This single-body fitting integrates a shutoff ball valve with a pressure and temperature relief function, reducing the number of connection points required during installation. It is rated for 3/4-inch copper-by-copper (CXC) connections. This component is intended for use in closed-loop heating systems and similar non-potable applications. It is not approved for potable water service. Licensed plumbers and HVAC technicians are the primary installers for this type of fitting in residential and light commercial systems.
The BRVS-125 is suited for hydronic heating systems where a combined isolation and relief valve assembly is required at the heat source or storage vessel connection point. The 3/4-inch CXC end configuration connects directly to standard copper tubing using sweat solder joints. This fitting is appropriate for residential boiler systems, indirect water heaters on closed loops, and similar low-pressure hydronic circuits. It is explicitly not approved for potable water use after the restriction date noted by the manufacturer.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for 3/4-inch copper hydronic piping systems. Not suitable for potable water applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified HVAC technician in accordance with local plumbing codes and IFGC or IPC requirements as applicable. Shut down the boiler or heating system and relieve system pressure before removing or installing any valve or relief fitting. Use standard sweat soldering tools and lead-free solder for CXC connections per applicable codes. Do not use this valve in any potable water supply line.
