The WATTS 0472000 is a push-to-connect tube-to-tube fitting designed for joining copper, CPVC, or PEX tubing in potable water and general-purpose plumbing systems. Built from lead-free brass with an EPDM O-ring seal, this fitting accepts 1/2 inch outside diameter tubing and creates a reliable, tool-free connection without soldering, crimping, or compression hardware. It meets NSF/ANSI 61-G requirements for contact with drinking water, making it suitable for residential and light commercial plumbing applications. Licensed plumbers and qualified service technicians are the primary installers for this type of fitting.
This fitting is suited for in-wall, under-sink, and mechanical room plumbing where a fast, leak-resistant tube connection is needed. Its push-to-connect design reduces labor time on repairs or new installations involving 1/2 inch OD tubing runs. General-purpose designation means it is appropriate across a wide range of water distribution scenarios where the listed standards are required by code.
Designed for general-purpose use with 1/2 inch OD tubing in potable water plumbing systems meeting ASTM F877, NSF/ANSI 14, NSF/ANSI 61-G, IAPMO ASSE 1061, and FDA requirements.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and the IPC or UPC as adopted in your jurisdiction. Shut off the water supply and depressurize the line before making or breaking any connections. Ensure tubing ends are cut cleanly and squarely and are free of burrs before inserting into the fitting to achieve a proper seal. Do not exceed the pressure and temperature ratings specified by WATTS for this fitting series.
