The WATSON MCDANIEL uc450-13-n is a universal steam trap station designed to simplify the installation, removal, and maintenance of steam trap modules in industrial and commercial steam distribution systems. Built entirely from stainless steel, this station provides strong resistance to both internal and external corrosion. The unit features a permanent SST mounting block that stays in the line while the trap module can be swapped out using a simple two-bolt swivel mounting design. It accepts 3/4 inch NPT connections and is rated for pressures and temperatures determined by the trap module installed.
This trap station is suited for commercial and industrial steam systems where maintainability and uptime matter. The two-bolt swivel mounting allows technicians to remove the trap module without disturbing the surrounding piping, reducing system downtime during maintenance. The station is built to handle water hammer and superheat conditions common in live steam lines, making it appropriate for both saturated and superheated steam applications. Licensed steam fitters and pipefitters are the primary trade for installation and service of this component.
Designed as a universal trap station that accepts Watson McDaniel UC450-series trap modules. Specific pressure and temperature ratings depend on the trap module selected for use with this station.
Installation should be performed by a licensed pipefitter or steam fitter in accordance with applicable mechanical codes. Isolate and fully depressurize the steam line before mounting the permanent SST block or servicing the trap module. The mounting block is intended to remain in the system long-term, with only the trap module requiring periodic removal. Confirm NPT thread engagement and joint integrity before returning the system to service.
