The WARWICK HANGER 1551-212 is a galvanized carbon steel pipe insulation shield designed to protect pipe insulation at hanger support points. Fabricated from 18-gauge carbon steel with a galvanized plated finish, this shield fits a 2.5-inch pipe size and features a 2.875-inch inner diameter to accommodate insulated pipe. It measures 10 inches in length, providing broad coverage at the contact point between the hanger and the insulation. Plumbers, pipefitters, and mechanical contractors install these shields wherever insulated piping must be supported without crushing or damaging the insulation jacket.
This shield is suited for commercial and residential mechanical piping systems where foam, fiberglass, or high-density insulation is in use. It is installed between the pipe hanger and the outer surface of the insulation to distribute the load and prevent compression or deformation at the support point. Typical applications include chilled water lines, HVAC hydronic piping, refrigerant suction lines, and domestic cold water runs where insulation continuity must be maintained across hanger locations. Sold in quantities of 25 per package.
Designed for use with standard pipe hangers on 2.5-inch pipe carrying foam, fiberglass, or high-density insulation. Suitable as an OEM-style accessory for insulated piping support in commercial and residential mechanical systems.
Pipe insulation shields are installed by plumbers and pipefitters during piping rough-in or insulation application. Position the shield around the insulation at each hanger location before securing the hanger to ensure even load distribution. Isolate or depressurize the piping system before making any support modifications on active lines. Follow applicable IPC and local mechanical code requirements for hanger spacing and support on insulated piping.
