The WALTER-TITEX 7378477 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for precision drilling in cast iron and steel. It carries a dual-layer TiSiAlCrN/AlTiN coating that extends tool life in demanding ferrous-material applications. The 140-degree drill point geometry reduces entry forces and improves centering on hard or interrupted surfaces. At 3.228 inches overall length with a 1.732-inch flute length, this bit fits standard jobber-length chucks and collet holders. It is built to a 5xD flute-by-diameter ratio and is rated to a maximum drilling depth of 1.378 inches. Licensed machinists, tool-and-die technicians, and industrial maintenance mechanics are the primary users of this bit.
This drill bit is suited for blind hole drilling, cross hole drilling, inclined hole exit applications, and stack drilling in cast iron and steel workpieces. The 0.2031-inch cutting diameter and 0.2360-inch straight-cylindrical shank make it compatible with standard collet chucks and drill presses used in production machining and maintenance environments. It is manufactured to ANSI and ISO standards and carries material grade WJ30ET, confirming it is appropriate for ISO material groups K (cast iron) and P (steel). No coolant-through capability is required for standard setups.
Designed for use in cast iron and steel workpieces in blind hole, cross hole, inclined hole exit, and stack drilling applications. Compatible with standard straight-cylindrical collet chucks accepting a 0.2360-inch shank diameter. Part of the Series DC160-05-A0 product family.
Installation and use of this bit should be performed by qualified machinists or maintenance technicians familiar with CNC or manual drill press setups. Secure the shank fully in the collet or chuck before operation, and verify runout with a dial indicator when precision tolerances are required. Power down the spindle completely before changing or inspecting the bit. This bit does not include coolant-through capability, so external coolant or cutting fluid should be applied at the entry point when drilling steel or cast iron at elevated feed rates.
