The WALTER-TITEX 7377659 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit engineered for high-performance drilling in demanding production environments. It carries a dual-layer TiSiAlCrN/AlTiN coating that extends tool life and supports elevated cutting speeds. The 140-degree split point reduces thrust force and resists walking on entry without a center punch. At 124 mm overall length with a 77 mm flute length and a 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio, this bit handles depths up to 60 mm. Two spiral flutes with a right-hand cut provide efficient chip evacuation. Coolant-through capability makes it well suited for deep-hole applications where heat management is critical. Licensed machinists and CNC operators are the primary installers.
This drill bit is designed for production drilling in cast iron, non-ferrous metals, carbon and alloy steels, superalloys, and titanium alloys. It covers blind hole, cross hole, inclined hole exit, and stack drilling applications, making it versatile across aerospace, automotive, and general metalworking operations. The 14 mm straight-cylindrical shank seats securely in standard drill chucks and collet holders. With a material grade of WJ30ET and compliance to ANSI and ISO standards, this bit fits into automated machining cells as readily as manual setups.
Part of the WALTER-TITEX Series DC160 line. Rated for primary workpiece material codes P (steel), K (cast iron), N (non-ferrous), and S (superalloys and titanium). Fits standard straight-cylindrical chuck and collet systems accepting a 14 mm shank diameter. Drill bit size falls within the 12.50 mm to 15.00 mm range of the DC160 series.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. The machine spindle must be brought to a full stop and the tool holder confirmed secure before inserting or removing the bit. Verify coolant-through passages are clear and system pressure is set per machine specifications before engaging a cut. Solid carbide tooling is brittle under lateral load — avoid side pressure, interrupted feeds, or improper runout that can cause sudden fracture.
