The WALTER-TITEX 7377474 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit engineered for high-performance drilling in steel, cast iron, aluminum, and non-ferrous materials. It features a 5.70 mm diameter, a 140-degree split point, and a dual-layer AlTiN/TiSiAlCrN proprietary coating that resists heat and wear under aggressive cutting conditions. The overall length is 82.00 mm (3.23 inches), with a 44.00 mm (1.73 inch) flute length and a 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio. A coolant-through design channels cutting fluid directly to the tip, extending tool life and improving chip evacuation in deep-hole applications. This bit is sized in the DC160 series and carries material grade WJ30ET.
This drill is suited for CNC machining centers and production drilling operations in metalworking environments. Typical applications include blind hole drilling, cross hole drilling, inclined hole exits, and stack drilling. The straight cylindrical shank measures 6 mm in diameter and 36.00 mm (1.42 inches) in length, making it compatible with standard precision collet chucks and drill chucks used in machine shop and manufacturing settings. It conforms to both ANSI and ISO standards, supporting use in domestic and international production environments.
Designed for use with steel, cast iron, aluminum, and non-ferrous workpiece materials (material codes K, N, P, S). Maximum recommended drilling depth is 35.00 mm. The 6 mm straight cylindrical shank fits standard collet chucks and drill holders configured for that shank diameter.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and locked out. Verify collet or chuck bore matches the 6 mm shank diameter before tightening to manufacturer-specified torque using calibrated tooling. Confirm coolant-through lines are primed and flow is verified before initiating a cut to protect the coating and workpiece. Follow applicable shop safety procedures and machine-specific operating guidelines during setup.
