The WALTER-TITEX 7377441 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for high-performance hole-making in steel, cast iron, aluminum, and non-ferrous materials. It features a 140-degree point angle for improved centering and reduced thrust force at entry. The multi-layer TiSiAlCrN/AlTiN coating provides thermal resistance and wear protection during aggressive cutting cycles. At 74.00 mm overall length with a 36.00 mm flute length, this is a 5xD depth-capable drill engineered for production environments. Coolant-through construction delivers cutting fluid directly to the tip, making it suitable for deep blind holes and interrupted cuts. Licensed machinists and CNC operators working in general manufacturing, aerospace, and metalworking fabrication are the primary users.
This drill is built for demanding drilling applications including blind holes, cross holes, inclined-surface hole exits, and stack drilling operations. The straight cylindrical shank at 6 mm diameter seats securely in standard collets and chucks. The DC160 series targets high-throughput production drilling in P-class steels, K-class cast irons, N-class aluminum alloys, and S-class superalloys and titanium. The 2-flute regular spiral geometry promotes efficient chip evacuation in these workpiece categories. It is appropriate for both CNC machining centers and manual drill press use where solid carbide tooling is specified.
Designed as an OEM-grade solid carbide drill for use in standard straight-shank collets and drill chucks sized for 6 mm shanks. Suitable for CNC machining centers, drill presses, and multi-spindle fixtures where DC160-series tooling is specified for steel, cast iron, aluminum, and non-ferrous workpieces.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle at a full stop and the machine in a locked-out or tagged-out state per applicable shop safety procedures. Seat the straight shank fully into the collet or chuck and verify runout before initiating a cut. Coolant-through tooling requires confirmation that the machine spindle and toolholder supply coolant at adequate pressure before drilling commences. Do not exceed the maximum drilling depth of 29.00 mm without retracting to clear chips.
