The WALTER-TITEX 6968771 is a screw machine length solid carbide drill bit designed for precision drilling in demanding industrial and trade applications. Built on the DC150-03-A1 series platform, this bit features a 140-degree split point, a TiNAl (titanium aluminum nitride) coating, and through-coolant capability. The 6mm diameter with an m7 tolerance shank fits straight-cylindrical tool holders and delivers consistent, repeatable hole quality. At 66mm overall length with a 28mm flute length, it is sized for compact, high-cycle applications where rigidity and chip control matter most. Machinists, tool and die technicians, and CNC operators are the primary installers of this bit.
This drill bit is rated for universal performance across multiple workpiece materials, including cast iron, hard materials, non-ferrous metals, and steel. Its screw machine length geometry keeps deflection low in short-reach setups, making it well-suited for production drilling on CNC machining centers, drill presses, and turret lathes. The 3xD flute-to-diameter ratio supports effective chip evacuation in moderate-depth bores. Maximum drilling depth is 20mm. The through-coolant design allows pressurized cutting fluid delivery directly to the cutting edge, extending tool life in high-feed applications on hard or abrasive materials.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit drill bit for applications requiring a 6mm straight-cylindrical shank tool within the DC150-03-A1 series. Compatible with workpiece materials including cast iron, hard materials, non-ferrous metals, and steel, per manufacturer specification.
Installation and use of this drill bit should be performed by qualified machinists or CNC technicians familiar with carbide tooling. Always confirm spindle speed and feed rate are appropriate for the workpiece material before operation, as carbide tooling is brittle and susceptible to chipping under improper load conditions. Ensure the tool holder is clean and within runout tolerance before seating the shank, and verify through-coolant pressure is within the machine's rated range. Power down the spindle and follow lockout-tagout procedures before changing or inspecting the bit.
