The WALTER-TITEX 6618807 is a solid carbide extra length drill bit designed for demanding precision drilling in hard and exotic workpiece materials. Built to the DC150-12-A1 series specification, this bit features a 140-degree drill point angle and a TiNAl coating that reduces heat buildup and extends tool life in abrasive applications. The 0.3125-inch diameter bit carries a 4.331-inch flute length and a 5.827-inch overall length, providing the reach needed for deep-hole and stack drilling work. Coolant-through construction supports chip evacuation in blind-hole and cross-hole applications. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 0.315 inches in diameter and 1.417 inches in length, seating securely in standard tool holders. This bit is specified and installed by machinists and tool-and-die professionals working with CNC machining centers and drill presses.
This drill bit is suited for production and precision machining environments where difficult-to-machine materials are common. Rated for use in cobalt, iron, nickel, and titanium alloy as primary workpiece materials, with secondary capability in glass and graphite. Typical applications include blind hole drilling, cross hole drilling, inclined hole exit conditions, and stack drilling setups. The 12xD flute-to-diameter ratio and coolant-through design make this bit particularly effective in deep-reach operations where chip management and thermal control are critical to hole quality and tool life. The right-hand cutting direction and m7 diameter tolerance support tight-tolerance production work.
Designed for use with CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual machine tools accepting a straight-cylindrical shank. Compatible with cobalt, iron, nickel, and titanium alloy workpieces as primary materials, and glass and graphite as secondary materials, per DC150-12-A1 series application ratings.
This bit is installed and operated by qualified machinists following standard shop safety procedures. Secure the straight-cylindrical shank firmly in a compatible tool holder or collet chuck before operation and verify runout prior to drilling. Activate coolant-through supply before initiating the cut to ensure proper chip evacuation and thermal management. Do not exceed the rated maximum drilling depth of 3.858 inches without retracting to clear chips.
