The WALTER-TITEX 6618718 is a solid carbide jobber length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding industrial and machining applications. Built to Series DC150-08-A1 standards, it features a 140-degree split point, a TiNAl (titanium aluminum nitride) coating, and a right-hand cutting direction. The overall length is 6.417 inches, with a cutting diameter of 11.5 mm (0.4528 inches) and a 12 mm straight-cylindrical shank. Grade WJ30TA carbide construction provides the hardness and heat resistance required for production drilling environments. Coolant-through capability supports chip evacuation and tool life in deep-hole applications.
This drill bit is suited for use on CNC machining centers and drilling stations handling cast iron, non-ferrous metals, steel, superalloys, and titanium. Typical applications include blind hole drilling and stack drilling where consistent hole geometry and tight tolerances are required. The 8xD flute-to-diameter ratio supports controlled chip flow at greater depths. The m7 diameter tolerance and compliance with ANSI and ISO standards make this bit appropriate for precision production work in aerospace, automotive, and general metalworking shops.
Designed for use in CNC drilling and machining setups targeting cast iron, non-ferrous metal, steel, superalloys, and titanium workpieces (material codes K, N, P, S). Part of the WALTER-TITEX DC150-08-A1 series covering the 10.00 mm to 12.50 mm diameter range.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician familiar with carbide tooling handling. Secure the shank fully into a compatible toolholder and verify runout before cutting. Ensure coolant lines are connected and flowing before initiating a cycle, as interrupted coolant can cause premature carbide failure. Do not exceed the manufacturer-rated maximum drilling depth of 96 mm (3.78 inches) per application setup.
