The WALTER-TITEX 6618676 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding industrial and trade applications. Built to Series DC150-08-A1 standards, it features a 5/16-inch (7.94 mm) cutting diameter, a 140-degree drill point angle, and a TiNAl (titanium aluminum nitride) coating that extends tool life in abrasive and hard-material applications. The overall length is 4.567 inches (116 mm), with a flute length of 2.992 inches (76 mm). This bit is suited for machinists, tool-and-die tradespeople, and industrial maintenance technicians who require consistent, repeatable results in production environments.
This drill bit is rated for use in cast iron, non-ferrous metals, steel, superalloys, and titanium. It supports both blind hole drilling and stack drilling applications, making it a practical choice for aerospace, heavy manufacturing, and precision machining setups. The 8xD flute-by-diameter ratio provides chip clearance at extended depths. Suitable for CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual machines configured for jobber-length carbide tooling in the 0.3000 to 0.3500 inch (7.00 to 8.00 mm) diameter range.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians familiar with carbide drill bit handling. Secure the shank fully in a precision collet or drill chuck before operation and verify runout does not exceed tool tolerance before engaging the workpiece. When using coolant-through capability, confirm the spindle and toolholder are configured for internal coolant delivery at the appropriate pressure for the workpiece material. Inspect the cutting edges and coating condition before each use, as solid carbide is brittle and susceptible to chipping if dropped or improperly stored.
