The WALTER-TITEX 6618640 is a solid carbide jobber drill designed for precision hole-making in demanding industrial and metalworking applications. Built to Series DC150-08-A1 standards, it features a 140-degree split point and a TiNAl (titanium aluminum nitride) coating that extends tool life under high-heat cutting conditions. The drill measures 5.10 mm in diameter with an overall length of 97.00 mm (3.819 inches) and a flute length of 57.00 mm (2.244 inches). The straight cylindrical shank has a diameter of 6 mm (0.236 inches). Right-hand cutting geometry and coolant-through capability make this drill well-suited for high-productivity production environments. It is installed by machinists and tooling professionals working with CNC machining centers and drill presses.
This drill is engineered for use in blind hole and stack drilling applications. Compatible primary workpiece materials include cast iron, aluminum and non-ferrous metals, steel, and high-temperature alloys, corresponding to material codes K, N, P, and S. The 8xD flute-to-diameter ratio supports deeper drilling with efficient chip evacuation. The drill grade WJ30TA and TiNAl coating work together to maintain cutting edge integrity across varied material types, making this a versatile option for shops running mixed-material production or prototype work.
Designed for use with cast iron, aluminum and non-ferrous metals, steel, and high-temperature alloys. Suitable for blind hole and stack drilling applications in CNC machining centers and drill presses accepting a 6 mm straight cylindrical shank. Part of the WALTER-TITEX DC150-08-A1 series covering the 5.00 mm to 6.00 mm diameter range.
This drill is installed by machinists in CNC or manual drilling setups. Ensure the machine spindle and tool holder are fully powered down and locked out before changing tooling. Verify chuck or collet compatibility with the 6 mm straight shank before seating the drill. When using the coolant-through feature, confirm that the machine spindle supplies internal coolant at the pressure and flow rate recommended by the machine manufacturer.
