The WALTER-TITEX 6618384 is a solid carbide jobber drill designed for high-performance drilling in demanding industrial and machining applications. Built to DC150 series specifications, it features a 0.3860-inch diameter, a 140-degree point angle, and a TiAlN coating that extends tool life in high-heat cutting conditions. The overall length is 4.0551 inches with a flute length of 1.9300 inches, giving it a 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio suited for controlled hole depth. A whistle notch shank provides secure tool holding in compatible chucks. This drill is intended for use by machinists, toolroom technicians, and CNC setup operators working in production or job shop environments.
This jobber drill is rated for use in cast iron, non-ferrous metals, steel, superalloys, and titanium. It supports both blind hole and stack drilling applications. The coolant-through design enables effective chip evacuation and thermal management when paired with a coolant-capable spindle. The right-hand cutting direction and regular spiral flute geometry suit standard CNC machining center and drill press operations where consistent hole quality and dimensional accuracy are required.
Designed for use in cast iron, non-ferrous metals, steel, superalloys, and titanium workpieces. Compatible with tool holders and chucks accepting a 0.3940-inch whistle notch shank. Part of the WALTER-TITEX DC150 series, sized within the 0.3500 to 0.4000 decimal inch drill bit size range.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by qualified machinists with the spindle fully stopped and machine power isolated. Confirm the chuck or collet accepts a 0.3940-inch whistle notch shank before seating the tool. When using the coolant-through feature, verify that the machine spindle coolant circuit is active and set to the appropriate flow rate for the material being drilled. Inspect the cutting edges and coating condition before each use to confirm the tool is within acceptable wear limits.
