The WALTER-TITEX 6618380 is a jobber length drill bit designed for demanding metal cutting applications in industrial and trade settings. Built from solid carbide and coated with TiAlN, this bit handles cast iron, non-ferrous metals, steel, and superalloys including titanium. The 140-degree drill point angle and proprietary point geometry promote accurate entry and reduce walking on hard surfaces. At 4.055 inches overall length with a 1.875-inch flute length, the bit fits standard drill chucks and CNC machining centers. A whistle notch shank provides positive drive retention. Coolant-through capability supports chip evacuation and heat control in deep or blind hole drilling. Installation and operation are performed by machinists, tool-and-die technicians, and metalworking professionals.
The 6618380 is rated for blind hole drilling and stack drilling operations across a broad range of workpiece materials coded K, N, P, and S under ISO classification. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and regular spiral flute geometry make this bit well suited for production environments where consistent hole quality is required in steel, cast iron, and titanium alloys. The DC150 series designation places this bit within a line engineered for high-performance drilling in ferrous and non-ferrous applications. The shank diameter of 0.394 inches and shank length of 1.575 inches are sized for compatibility with standard toolholding systems on CNC and manual machines.
Designed for use in cast iron, non-ferrous metal, steel, and superalloy and titanium workpieces as defined by ISO material codes K, N, P, and S. Suitable for blind hole and stack drilling applications. Part of the WALTER-TITEX DC150 series. Fits toolholding systems accepting a 0.394-inch shank diameter.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by qualified machinists or CNC machine operators with the spindle fully stopped and machine power locked out per applicable safety procedures. Verify that the toolholder and collet or chuck are clean and undamaged before seating the whistle notch shank. When using the coolant-through feature, confirm that coolant supply lines are connected and pressure is within the machine specification before initiating a cut. Do not use this bit in hand-held drill applications; it is intended for rigid machine tool setups only.
