The WALTER-TITEX 6618360 is a jobber length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding industrial and metalworking applications. Built from solid carbide and finished with a TiAlN coating, this bit delivers extended tool life and heat resistance when cutting through tough materials. The 140-degree point angle reduces thrust and improves centering accuracy on entry. With an overall length of 3.58 inches and a flute length of 1.57 inches, it fits standard jobber length applications. The whistle notch shank and 0.315-inch shank diameter provide secure clamping in compatible toolholders. Right-hand cut with a regular spiral flute pattern rounds out the core geometry.
This bit is intended for use in machining operations on cast iron, non-ferrous metals, steel, superalloys, and titanium. It supports both blind hole and stack drilling applications. The coolant-through design allows internal coolant delivery to the cutting zone, making it suitable for CNC machining centers and other equipped machine tools where chip evacuation and thermal management are critical. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio provides adequate chip clearance for the rated drilling depth. It is part of the DC150 series and carries ANSI and ISO standard designations.
Designed for use on cast iron, non-ferrous metals, steel, superalloys, and titanium workpieces. Compatible with toolholders accepting a 0.315-inch whistle notch shank. Suitable for CNC machining centers and manual machines equipped with coolant-through capability. Part of the WALTER-TITEX DC150 series.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by qualified machinists following shop safety procedures. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the bit from the toolholder. Verify that the toolholder bore is compatible with the 0.315-inch whistle notch shank and that the notch is properly aligned with the drive key. When running coolant-through, confirm that coolant pressure and flow rate are within the machine and toolholder specifications before starting the cut.
