The WALTER-TITEX 5834245 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit engineered for high-performance drilling in cast iron and similarly abrasive materials. Manufactured in the A3382XPL series, it features a 6.80 mm diameter, a 140-degree X-treme CI point, and an AlCrN coating that resists heat and wear during aggressive cutting cycles. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 8.00 mm in diameter, and the overall length is 91.00 mm (3.58 inches). Coolant-through construction supports internal coolant delivery to the cutting zone, extending tool life in production environments. Licensed machinists and CNC operators working in job shops or manufacturing facilities are the primary installers of this tool.
This drill bit is designed for blind hole and stack drilling applications in cast iron workpieces, corresponding to ISO material group K and material grade K30F. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and 53.00 mm flute length support a maximum drilling depth of 43.00 mm (1.69 inches) per pass. The two-spiral flutes in a regular spiral configuration evacuate chips efficiently in cast iron, where chip control is critical to surface finish and hole accuracy. The right-hand cutting direction is standard for conventional CNC machining centers and drill presses.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and drill presses equipped with standard collet or hydraulic chucks accepting an 8.00 mm straight-cylindrical shank. Primary workpiece material is cast iron (ISO group K). Suitable for blind hole and stack drilling operations within the A3382XPL series application range.
Installation and tool changes must be performed by qualified machinists with the machine powered down and all motion fully stopped. Verify chuck or collet runout before seating the shank to maintain hole-position tolerance. Confirm coolant-through lines are clear and delivering adequate flow before beginning a drilling cycle. Follow machine-tool manufacturer guidelines and applicable workplace safety standards when setting feeds, speeds, and depth stops.
